My Recent Article on Suffering & Caregiving for a Chronic Illness

I was honored to write for Briannagrams blog on her current Releasing to God series.

My article “When Suffering Continues and No Healing Is In Sight” can be read on her website through the link at the end of this post.

Here is an excerpt from my article:

“By having a constant need and reliance on God for physical protection, it becomes much easier to daily recognize and desire his help and deliverance in all the other areas of our life – to ask him to permeate every aspect of our life- our mental, emotional, and spiritual life also.
When our need is great, our dependence on God through prayer deepens.
Our eyes are opened to our great neediness in all areas of our life. We are humbled and dependent on the only One who can carry us.”

Discovering a new diagnosis can be quite challenging, especially when it is life-threatening. Being a caregiver for anaphylactic allergies has grown me in many ways, especially increasing my awareness and continual dependence on God.

As you look at your own life challenges, consider how you can approach them. How can you choose joy in the midst of your difficult circumstances? Read in the article how we pivoted and stepped into joy and new adventure as a family. You don’t want to miss what we chose to pursue.

I pray my sharing of my faith journey in facing a difficult diagnosis and how we responded to it will bless and encourage you, friend.

May you be blessed by my words in whatever battle or suffering you are facing currently.

May you learn new ways to find joy in the current hardship or difficult reality you face. May you lean into God for His strength and guidance.
