Normalize Mental Health Therapy Thru this Powerful Strategy
Let’s Normalize seeking mental health therapy…
by talking about it in regular conversations.
➡️ Yes. By mentioning mental health therapy the same way you’d mention the witty thing your barista said or an interaction at the gym, you normalize the conversation surrounding mental health therapy.
Here are some examples of ways to normalize it:
“Oh yeah- my therapist has been talking about that too.”
“I was at therapy the other day and…”
“I’ve been thinking about the conversation I had the other day with my therapist.”
Right alongside other conversations:
“Oh- I have to tell you this funny thing that happened while I was in line to grab a coffee.”

Hmm… It seems like normal conversation to me.
Let’s normalize it. Get brave and slip it into conversation.
If someone responds with anything less than being validating, encouraging, positively interactive, they may not be your kind of people.
They may be uncomfortable because they aren’t ready to face their own issues.
They may want to keep conversations superficial.
They may not think you need “therapy”.
It’s not for them to determine, shame, minimize, or judge though.
Find people who are safe, supportive of healing & therapy, and validating.
Here’s a thought—
Hiring a personal trainer helps a person improve physically with exercise and wellbeing.
Just like making an appointment with a mental health therapist or psychologist helps a person process difficult struggles, emotions, memories, etc.
Let’s normalize it by talking about it in a positive and good way.
