I heard a message by Christine Caine, a Christian speaker and author, on Mary the mother of Jesus. “She had to replace her what if with an even if faith.”Her words regarding Mary’s response to the God assignment she was given were powerful. “An Even If faith dispels fear.” These words penetrated my soul as I considered them. Shifting what if this happens or that person responds in that way, etc, etc, to even if this happens God is still on His throne. God is still fighting my battles. Peace. In Jesus, we may have peace. Jesus is the One who brings peace, hope, & joy into a troubled world. The weary world rejoices! Christ has come this Christmas. Rejoice & find joy.
Christmas isn’t about perfection. It never was. It’s about coming face to face with the hope of Jesus and the mighty miracle of His descension to earth. It’s about rejoicing in spite of the weariness and less than ideal circumstances you face. It’s about looking to the only One who can provide healing and comfort and joy this season. His name is Jesus, Messiah. Let us focus on that truth this season and find hope that won’t diminish or fade. What do you need Jesus’ peace over in your life today? Right now?
I went for an early morning run this week while it was still dark out to run some stress off… It was 25° F out, and I ran 3.44 miles. It felt good. It was an accomplishment and much needed for my own self-care: mentally, emotionally, physically, & spiritually. As I ran, this song came up on my playlist… & I stopped running to walk… & to sing out loud in worship… To remind myself of its’ truth… & allow its’ truth to wash over me.
