God Is In the Room & He Still Does Miracles.
Friend— You are Not alone. No matter what you are going through. No matter if anyone knows the battle you are facing, the struggles that are pressing in, the pressures you face. God is right there with you. The song “In the Room” by Maverick City Music is one of my current favorites because it testifies to how God has always been the same, back when Daniel was in the lion’s den and wasn’t devoured after going against the command to only pray to the king. He continued to pray to God and was sentenced to death by the lion’s den as a result. But God protected him. (Read about…

In the Midst of Your Battle, God Sees You & Is Near
What battle are you struggling in friend? God knows it. And he cares about you. In the midst of whatever you are walking through. Whether anyone knows the pain you carry or the storm that you are in. God does. You are not alone. God is with you and will help you through the midst of it. Why do I know? How can I be sure? Well, friend, it’s because God carried me through deeply, painful and difficult seasons in my own life where I couldn’t see the end in sight, but God was there carrying me, guiding me, bringing peace to my heart day by day. God is the…

RELINQUISH CONTROL
It doesn’t feel good to not be in control. In control of our life. Our choices. Our struggles. Our emotions. Our relationships. Our work. To not be on top of everything. Doing well in the many facets of life. It doesn’t feel good— It doesn’t feel comfortable. And yet, being in control is just an illusion. It is not reality. We are not actually in control or even have the actual ability to have control over all the things we interact with in our life on a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly basis. So much is outside our control and we will expend so much energy trying to force things to…

Fully Persuaded Faith & Hope- Like Abraham
I’ve been reading through the New Testament book of Romans recently. Chapter 4 deals with Abraham’s faith and how his faith was credited to him as righteousness (Rom. 4: 9b). He came long before Jesus came with a new covenant to make a way for sinful man to have eternal life and relationship with God again. Restored relationship. Redeemed relationship- with the Father who loved us so greatly (Read how greatly in John 3:16 and consider what that would be like). Abraham’s faith astounds me. Humbles me. Makes me want to aspire to it. God brought forth a miracle in the lives of Abraham and Sarah when they had no…

Everyone Has a Story: The Power of Asking and Truly Wanting to Know
Being intentional with the people you meet… I was eating at a restaurant after a powerful conference this weekend where God moved in my life and heart and so many other people’s. A weekend of hearing, responding, receiving. We chose to bless the server with a larger tip, and I felt led to say some words to her about God and how He loves her and knows the circumstances of her life and cares about her or write a note to her with similar words. The timing felt odd. It felt awkward. To go up to her after paying already at the table. To go up to her, get her…

The weary world rejoices! Christ has come this Christmas. Rejoice & find joy.
Christmas isn’t about perfection. It never was. It’s about coming face to face with the hope of Jesus and the mighty miracle of His descension to earth. It’s about rejoicing in spite of the weariness and less than ideal circumstances you face. It’s about looking to the only One who can provide healing and comfort and joy this season. His name is Jesus, Messiah. Let us focus on that truth this season and find hope that won’t diminish or fade. Hope that isn’t based on the perfect gifts or decorations or plans, but an expectant waiting, watching, rejoicing in the midst of the weariness… and thereby finding true JOY. Joy…

A Prayer For a Miracle- a Reprieve… In the Storm.
A Prayer For a Miracle- a Reprieve. In the Storm. Lord we come to you and ask for a miracle… for a reprieve in the midst of the hard. We ask for a miracle in the life of so many right now who are grieving, who are hurting, who are sick, who are crying out for a yes answer from you. God, you are sovereign. You are over All. We know this. And we come to you asking for a miracle in so many people’s current circumstances, of sickness, death, and hardship. We know you are mighty, and we know that you have the power to do what we ask.…
