What do you need Jesus’ peace over in your life today? Right now?

I went for an early morning run this week while it was still dark out to run some stress off… It was 25° F out, and I ran 3.44 miles. It felt good. It was an accomplishment and much needed for my own self-care: mentally, emotionally, physically, & spiritually.

As I ran, this song came up on my playlist… & I stopped running to walk…

& to sing out loud in worship…

To remind myself of its’ truth… & allow its’ truth to wash over me.

Tremble by Mosaic MSC

“Peace, bringing it all to peace.  The storm surrounding me. Let it break at Your name…

Jesus, Jesus, You make the darkness tremble

Jesus, Jesus, You silence fear

Jesus, Jesus, You make the darkness tremble

Jesus, Jesus…

Your name is a light that the shadows can’t deny

Your name cannot be overcome

Your name is alive forever lifted high

Your name cannot be overcome…

Jesus, Jesus…”

I needed to hear that message and sing those words out-loud in worship…

To declare their truth in my heart, in my life.

You see, I’ve been needing peace in this season. I need rest in this current season.

I need so much of Jesus… I need His power working in my life, in my heart, doing only what He can do… in the midst of all that is going on in life right now.

And so, friend, what about you?

What do you need Jesus’ peace over in your life today? Right now?

Pause and truly ask yourself that question. Allow yourself to be honest about what it is or the multiple things weighing you down…

How amazing it is that we can rest in Him— Jesus

In the midst of our crazy,

In the midst of our stress,

In the midst of our worries,

In the midst of our fears.

In the midst of each and every storm & struggle in our life…

God is right there with us through the Holy Spirit- holding us, caring for us, encouraging us, lamenting with us, & interceding on our behalf.

So, go ahead, and do it.

Call out to Jesus… Take pause. Rest.

Stop doing all your busy to-do’s right now. All of your striving. Stop and ask Him for His peace to come into your life, into your heart. Right now.

There will never be a need for perfection with your Christmas, with your life, with whatever you are placing the high expectation of in your life. The season of life we are in presently with a baby plus 3 older kids with multiple school schedules & needs to navigate… means a balancing act between all the needs and demands and stresses on time, energy, and talents… not to mention the tiring weight of so many medical & health issues we keep getting hit with right & left…

We could use prayers of protection from that… because it sure seems like spiritual attack on the health & medical front… Attacks to steal our joy and put our little loved ones in jeopardy, especially the newest little one. And, then I stop and listen to the words of that song.

“Peace, bringing it all to peace. The storm surrounding me. Let it break at your name. Jesus, Jesus… ”

And I cry out to Him for His help in the midst… I cry out to the One who brings hope in the darkness, who brings strength, who gives joy. The One who brings the dawn even after the darkest night. Jesus, the One, who brings peace.

I can’t do all. Be all. Carry all. I was never meant to.

Jesus did though- HE carried all- All my sin and yours on that cross at Calvary to pay the punishment for our sin & then conquer death & sin so we could have a chance to choose Life- eternal life & a relationship with Him forever.

Man am I grateful I don’t have to carry it all. There’s no way I can.

As I sit and ponder the words from the song yet again, I am SO thankful I can rest in the God who loves me desperately and has the power to make the waves & storms still and the One who can give me the ability to stand up under each and every additional attack- through His strength, not my own. 💗

This is Christmas- Jesus come down, and the hope of glory.

Let me rest in that. In Him.

Let us put pause on all the “traditions” striving.

Let us just be. Present. In the midst of whatever it is and grab ahold of *His* peace this season, and every season. In order to find joy in the midst of the storm.
